Consumer Price Index — basket weights

Relative importance of each position in the Nigeria Consumer Price Index basket, in per cent, as printed on the "Weights" row of Tables 1-4 of the National Bureau of Statistics monthly CPI workbook. Carried for the composite (national), urban and rural sub-universes across the COICOP divisions and the published aggregate indices, and declared against the 2024=100 base. A weight is a property of the basket for a base period rather than of a month, so each figure is quoted at the vintage that printed it: a reweighting lands as a dated row instead of overwriting the only copy. Figures are carried exactly as published and are not rescaled — the thirteen composite COICOP divisions sum to 100.01 in the July 2026 vintage, which is the National Bureau of Statistics' own two-decimal rounding.
